Dankbaar en Ander Hoededoos Stories

Eerstens in my moedertaal sodat ek en jy kan verstaan, tweedens in Engels sodat my kinders en hulle kan verstaan.

Die blad is uit ootmoet gebore. In dankbaarheid uit my wonderlike kleinweeskinderjare. Briefies geskryf soos herinneringe terugspoel in soete verlange. Gebêre in ma se ou hoededoos sodat my kinders en hulle kinders ‘n visie van toeka kan beleef.

Maar hoekom dit bêre in ‘n hoededoos, as tegnologie roep tot bevryding?

Grateful and Other Hat Box Stories,

First in Afrikaans, my mother-tongue so that they and I can understand, then in English so that my children and you can understand.

This page was born in humbleness, gratefulness of a child’s past. Letters written of playful moments long gone but still fresh in memory. For my children and their children a vision of the past.

But why keep these letters in mom’s old hatbox when technology calls them to freedom?
